Your mission will be to expand our penetration of the Atlanta market with a focus will be on bringing in new business, although there also will be elements of account management. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have solid experience and a track record of success in outside business-to-business sales, ideally in the IT industry. We're looking for a professional with an established network of contacts to leverage and a demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate relationships. You also will need to be self-motivated, resourceful, and have the ability to achieve goals independently.

You'll target small to medium businesses in Atlanta, particularly the Southern Atlanta area, and our preference is that you live there and work from a home office. Our company is based in Macon, and you will need to spend time there in the first few months.

More About Your Role

If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure we're providing a complete picture, here are some details. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales, you will join a team that includes several Sales Executives targeting the greater Macon area. We've created this new position to expand our reach, and you will build a new book of business, ideally leveraging your existing contacts, in the Southern Atlanta area. We focus on businesses with 20 to 100 employees. Here's a snapshot of your first three months with Infinity Network Solutions:

Month 1: We'll provide sales skills training and get you up to speed on our company, culture, and portfolio of products and services.
Month 2: You'll be making customer contacts and the EVP will accompany you on sales calls.
Month 3: you'll have a pipeline of sales to close.

From there you will own the entire sales cycle, including qualifying leads, cold calling, meeting with and presenting to decision makers, negotiating and closing deals. In addition, you will follow up with clients to cultivate ongoing relationships and explore addition opportunities for Infinity to be of service. Sales cycles rarely go beyond 30 days except on larger sales. You will be able to bring clients into our Macon offices to take advantage of our Solutions Center, and you may also use Cisco facilities closer to Atlanta.

While you definitely will need to be a driven hunter, your relationship building skills will also be crucial. You'll need to be able to inspire trust on a personal level with small business owners, selling yourself first, then the company, then the products and services. In addition, in order to be an outstanding Sales Executive, you will:
  • Be resourceful and achieve your goals independently. For example, while you will have support from Sales Engineers on occasion, you will need to be able to drive deals without them by your side every time.
  • Address the technical issues as effectively as you address the business issues; you won't just sell a service or a product, but an overall solution that will help the client be more effective.
  • Engage actively in community activities, such as the chamber of commerce, service organizations, or your kid's softball league in order to network with potential new clients.
  • Understand how to communicate the value you can add so that people will want to talk with you.
